He operated the first commercial strawberry growing operation on Mount Newton Cross Road in Saanich BC. He served as a Member of the Saanich Council as Alderman for Ward 6. In 1951-1954 he was the first Reeve of the Municipality of Central Saanich BC. He was qualified as a test pilot. He held a Commercial Pilot's Licence #9 for the UK having learned to fly at Brooklands UK before World War One. He was one of the founders of the Victoria Flying Club. |
