Biography

 

Military Service

He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 31/07/1914). He served in HMCS Shearwater II 1915. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1916). He served in HMCS Shearwater II (Additional for duty in submarines) 1917. He served in HMCS Niobe (For duty with Submarines) 1917. He served in CC-2 (In command) 1918. In 1918 he served in HMCS Shearwater. (He was one of the first two officers commissioned into the RNCVR. He was involved in accepting delivery of the C-class submarines from the US builders in 1914.)
