On elisting in the navy he reported his birthday as Vovember 18, 1898 when in fact he was born in DEcember 1900. He was underage when he joined the RNCVR. Eventually his true age was discovered and he was sent home. He served again in World War Two as part of the Canadian Army Postal Corps |
