He was accepted as RNAS candidate 25/06/1915. He was trained at Curtiss Flying School. He was awarded Royal Aero Club Certificate 1723 03/09/1915. He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS (With seniority dated 03/09/1915). He sailed on the Corinthian 19/09/1915. He served at Detling 05/1916. He served in #3 (Naval) Wing on bombing raids 1917. (He was discharged from RNAS (as medically unfit) 10/07/1917) (He was re-engaged as an Observer Sub-Lieutenant RNAS 05/09/1917). He served in RNAS Eastchurch, HMS Engadine, and RNAS Cattewater. (He was demobilized.) |
