In 1952 he graduated with a degree in Agriculture from the University of British Columbia.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 27/01/1950). He served in HMCS Discovery for UNTD 1949-1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1952). In 1952 he served in HMCS Malahat. (He was released.)
