He served in RNAS Felixstowe 1917. He was shot down off North Hinder Light 15/02/1918 while flying a Felixstowe flying boat. |

Escorting a convoy in a Flying Curtiss H12B, he was jumped by Brandenburg fighters. His crew of Airman S.J. Hollidge, Boy Mechanic A. Stephenson and Ensign A.D Sturtevant USN, were all lost. |
