He was trained as a radio telegraph operator with the British post office. He emigrated to Canada from the UK in the SS Campania. In 1911 he joined the Dominion Wireless Service serving at Gonzales Radio Station. In 1911 he served in the Point Grey Radio Station. In 1913 he was a Radio Opertor in the DGS Galiano. In 1913-1914 he served at the Estevan Radio Station. In 1922 he served at Alert Bay Radio Station. He retired in 1938 while he was the OIC at the Vancouver Merchants Exchange Radio Station VAB. In 1938 he was retired. Afterwards he was a marine radio operator on CPR vessels, including the Princess Patricia in 1956. |

He was appointed as a Second Class Wireless Telegraph Operator (RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/03/1916). In 1916 he served in HMCS Shearwater for Esquimalt Radio Station. In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Rainbow for Wireless Telegraph Duty (West Coast) at Triangle Island Radio Station. (He was demobilized.) |
