He was a student at the time of his rcruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Wireless Telegraph Operator (4th Class) RNCVR (With seniority dated 08/11/1917). In 1917 he served in HMCS Niobe as Additional for Duty at Sambro Island (Wireless Telegraph Station). (He was demobilized.)
