Biography
He was originally from Yarmouth, NS, but moved away from home a few years before WWI to British Columbia, where he worked in the merchant marine. He was described as a Machine Fitter at the time of his enlistment in Victoria BC. (It was noted at the time that he had 3 years service in the Merchant Marine). After the war he was a member of the Navy Club in Victoria and he is buried at Royal Oak Cemetery there in an area for deceased servicemen.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/10/1914), In 1914 he served in the Pacific Division. In 1914 he served in HMCS Shearwater. He was appointed as a Temporary Engineroom Artificer RCN (With seniority dated 08/12/1915). He was appointed as an Engineroom Artificer (RNCVR) (With seniority 01/10/1916). (He was demobilized).
