Biography
He was living in Edmonton AB at the time of his recruitment. He was qualified as a Dentist in 1977. He was was chairman of the Alberta Dental Association and College’s confidential assistance program, which helped dentists with family and personal challenges. In 2005, Ritson-Bennett received the association’s Distinguished Medal of Service for outstanding service to the profession or public on a local, provincial, national or international level. He was killed in an accident while on a visit to India. He was living in Innisfail AB at the time of his death.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1964. He served in HMCS Tecumseh for UNTD (Edmonton) 1964-1967. He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1966. He served in HMCS Malahat for Training 1967. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1967. (He was released.)
