He was qualified as a Medical Doctor - MD 1973 Dalhousie University. He served as the Executive Director - International Grenfell Association and as Chair - Grenfell Development Inc and President - Newfoundland Medical Association (1990).

 

Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1961. He served in HMCS Brunswicker for UNTD 1961-1964. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1964). He served in HMCS Brunswicker 1964. (He was released.)
