Biography
He was qualified as a Lawyer. He was called to The Bar in Ontario, with honors, in 1958, and The Bar of The Northwest Territories in 1972. He specialized in Civil Litigation. He was a retired partner and Counsel to the law firm of Fasken Martineau, in their Toronto office. In recognition of his litigation skills and many years of outstanding and varied contributions to the legal profession in the Province of Ontario, he received The Law Society Medal in 1988.

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1951. He served in HMCS Star for UNTD 1951-1954. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1954). In 1954 he served in HMCS York. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1956). (He was released.)

Currently at the Osgoode Hall Law School at York U; "The Ronald J. Rolls ’58 Q.C. Prize will be given annually to the student who stands first in each section of civil procedure, which is part of the Legal Process course. Ronald J Rolls practiced civil litigation at Fasken Martineau for over 40 years. He coauthored a number of books on civil procedure including the Law of Civil Procedure." Also at McMaster U; "The Ronald J. Rolls Scholarship Established in 2012 by bequest to recognize the exceptional achievements of Ronald J. Rolls, B.A. (Class of ’54), L.LB., Q.C., L.S.M. To be awarded to a student who has completed Humanities I with the highest Sessional Average and who is entering an Honours English program."
