He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. He was appointed as an Able-Seaman RNCVR. He served in HMS Stephen Furness, an armed boarding steamer (former squadron supply vessel) that was torpedoed and sunk December 13, 1917 by the German submarine UB-64 in the Irish Sea. |
