He served in the RNCVR during the First World War 1916-1919. (He was demobilized). (Re-engaged 1919 as Victualling Petty Officer RNCVR) In 1919 he served in HMCS Rainbow. (Re-enlisted July 18, 1923) He was appointed as an Officer's Cook 3rd Class RCN 1923. In 1923 he served in HMCS Patrician. He was appointed as an Officer's Steward 3rd Class RCN 1925. He was appointed as an Officer's Steward 2nd Class RCN 1926. In 1927 he served in HMCS Naden. He was appointed as an Officer's Steward 1st Class RCN 1927. In 1934 he served in HMCS Skeena. He was appointed as a Petty Officer Steward RCN (With seniority date 01/06/1935). In 1936 he served in HMCS Naden. In 1938 he served in HMS Crusader (later HMCS Ottawa). He was appointed as a Chief Petty Officer Steward RCN (With seniority date 01/09/1939). He served in HMCS Stadacona 1940. Heserved in hMCS Naden 1940. He served in HMCS Royal Roads 1941. He served in HMCS Royal Roads 1942-1945. (He died on February 14, 1945 while serving on active duty in HMCS Royal Roads (Officer Training Establishment). |

In 1934 he was awarded the RCN Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. He is buried in the Naval Cemetery at CFB Esquimalt. |
