He was mentioned in despatches for his part in the air raid on the German battleship Tirpitz. He was killed in a flying accident when his wings folded on take-off from H.M.S. Formidable 30/07/1945 when his plane took part in CAP during attack on Japanese mainland, crashed into sea near HMS Formidable. |
