Military Service

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1953. In 1953-1954 he served in HMCS Discovery for UNTD. (He was released.) (Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1954). He served in HMCS Discovery. He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1956). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1957). He served in HMCS Niobe for RN General Education and Warfare Course and Technical Courses 1957. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He served in HMCS Athabaskan 1959. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 21/02/1960). He served in HMCS Venture for Academic Courses 1962. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Second Long Weapons Course 1962. He served in HMCS Annapolis. (He was released.)
