Military Service

He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNR (With seniority dated 06/02/1940). He served in HMCS Guysborough (In command) 1942. (H.M.C.S. Guysborough (Bangor Minesweeper) was lost in the English Channel after being torpedoed by German submarine U-878.) He served in HMCS Snowberry (In command) 1945. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (RCN(R)) (With seniority dated 06/02/1947). (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 06/02/1947). He served in HMCS Sault Ste. Marie (In command) 1951. (He was released.) (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.)
