Biography |

He was raised in Manitoba. He spent his youth in Winnipeg where he attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He received both his B.A. (1951) and Law Degree (1955) from the University of Manitoba and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1955. He was Counsel for the Attorney General and Director of Prosecutions of Manitoba in the 50s and 60s, through the 70s in his role as Senior Counsel with the Department of Justice in Ottawa. He worked for several years in private practice in Winnipeg, then he was appointed to the Federal Tax Court of Canada in 1983 and served until 2005. |

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. In 1948 he served in HMCS Chippawa for UNTD. (He was released.) |
