After his naval service he operated Farmer Gus's Monster Pumpkin Ranch and Farm Park.

 

Military Service

(Short Service Appointment 17/07/1953). He was appointed as a Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 17/07/1953). He served in HMCS Cornwallis for #6 Junior Air Officer Basic Training Course 1953. He served in HMCS Ontario for Sea Training 1954. He served in HMCS Stettler for Sea Training. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1954). He served in HMCS Niagara for Pilot Training With USN at USNAS Pensacola and USNAS Kingsville TX, Awarded USN Wings 19/10/1956. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1955). He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Bonaventure for Duty With VS-881 Squadron 1956. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/02/1957). He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron 1959. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron as Instructor in Advanced Flying Training Flight. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Base Operations. He served in HMCS Saguenay for Watchkeeping Certificate, #101 Communications Flight. He served in MARCOM HQ as Area Sea Cadet Officer. He served in NDHQ on Staff of Director General Information Services. (He resigned 1973.)
