He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1951). He served in HMCS Chippawa for UNTD 1950-1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (L) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 17/05/1958). In 1958 he served in HMCS Chippawa. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 17/05/1963). (He was released.) (He was qualified for electrical duties.)
