Biography
He was living in Edmonton AB at the time of his recruitment. He attended the University of Alberta. In 1952 he was the winner of a Navy League of Canada National Scholarship. He was a former minister at St Albert United Church, and spent most of his working years as a teacher in Calgary high schools. Ed was an ardent student of history and earned degrees from the University of Alberta, Southern Methodist University in Dallas and Boston University.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1951. He served in HMCS Nonsuch for UNTD 1951-1954. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1954). In 1954 he served in HMCS Nonsuch. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1956). In 1960 he served in HMCS Nonsuch on the retired list. (He was released.)
