Biography
He entered the U of T, from Ridley College in St Catharines ON, in 1943. He returned to U of T, graduating with a BA in Modern History in 1949. He taught for a year at Appleby College in Oakville ON. He attended Cambridge Univ in the UK, obtaining an MA there in 1952. He worked at Trinity College School (TCS) 1952-1983. In 1955 he was a House Master and in 1959 was Assistant Headmaster. After a one year Leave of Absence to attend Harvard, he became Headmaster of TCS in 1962 and remained as such until retirement in 1983.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/09/1943). In 1943 he served in HMCS Star for UNTD. (Transferred to RNVR 01/04/1944). He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 01/04/1944). He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #68 Pilot Training Course, #13 Elementary Flying Training School, #14 Service Flying Training School. (CFR). He was appointed as a A/Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR. (Transferred to RCNR). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 07/06/1947). He served in HMCS Star. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R). He served in HMCS Shearwater for #1 Training Air Group 1949. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) 1952. (He was released.)
