He was qualified as a lawyer. He was appointed as the Attorney General - Ontario and as Minister Responsible for Native Affairs - Ontario and as Solicitor General - Ontario. He was elected as Member Provincial Parliament of Ontario - St George-St David - ON.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1952. He served in HMCS York for UNTD 1952. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1955). (He was released.)
