Anecdotes |

"I've been interested in maritime and naval history for most of my life, and also have a little maritime and naval history in my family. My grandfather (my Dad's father) worked at the John Brown Shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland, prior to immigrating to Canada in the 1920's. My father served in the RCNVR, as a Petty Officer (Engine Room Artificer) during WWII. As a result, I jumped at the chance to join the UNTD. I was very disappointed when the UNTD program was cancelled in 1968, but that one year made a lasting impression on me for the rest of my life. " |
