Biography
He was the brother of Captain Percy Shadforth. (He was qualified as a Master Mariner (Extra Master Foreign Going) #40180). He was appointed as a British Columbia Marine Pilot.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Midshipman RNVR. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNVR. (He Ws demobilized.) (Mobilized for World War Two service) (With seniority dated 09/11/1939). A/Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 09/11/1939). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Acadia (In command) 1940. He served in HMCS Spikenard 1942. (He was killed on 10/02/1942 when the German submarine U-136 fired four torpedoes at the convoy SC-67 south of Iceland sank the steamship Heina and HMCS Spikenard (K 198).)
