Biography
His home was in Neepawa, Manitoba at the time of his recruitment where he was a mechanic and driver. He enrolled in the Canadian School of Aviation, Toronto ON. He was awarded Royal Aero Club Certificate 1864 at the Curtiss Flying School, Toronto ON 06/10/1915;
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (With seniority dated 06/10/1915). He sailed from Montreal on the Metagawa, 15/10/1915. He served in RNAS Chingford, 3/11/1915. He was injured in a bomb explosion, 23/01/1917 while with #3 (Naval) Wing. He served in Canada on sick leave, June 1917. He served in RNAS Maidstone, 25/11/1915. He served in RNAS Manstone, 15/10/1917. He served in #66 Wing, 12/09/1918. He was wounded 21/10/1918; (He was demobilized.) (Transferred to RAF 1918). (Transferred to RCAF 1922). He was appointed as a Squadron Leader RCAF. He served as Commanding Officer No. 3 (Operations) Squadron (RCAF Rockcliffe) 1925-26. He was appointed as a Wing Commander RCAF 1933. He served as Commanding Officer #4 (Flying Boat) Squadron 1933-36. He was appointed as a Group Captain RCAF. He was appointed as a Air Commodore RCAF. He was appointed as a Air Vice Marshall RCAF 1940. He served as Air Officer Commanding #2 Training Command 1940-43. (He was released.)
