Biography
He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following retirement from the navy in the 1970s, he joined the Bedford Institute of Oceanography as the Engineering Superintendent of the oceanographic fleet.
 
Military Service
While a student, he served in the Militia Signal Corps from 1939-1943. (Transferred to RCNVR). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (E) (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) (A/E) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/05/1943). He served with the Royal Navy 1943. He served in RN for Aeronautical Engineering Training 1944. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) (A/E) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/05/1944). He served in RNAS East Haven and RNAS Fearn for 825 RN Squadron as Air Engineer Officer 1945. He served in CFMO London as Staff Officer Air Engineering 1945, (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1944). He served in HMCS Shearwater for 826 RN Squadron as Air Engineer Officer 1949. He served in HMCS Ontario for Engineering Watchkeeping 1950. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1952). He served in HMCS Stadacona on Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast as Staff Officer Air Engineering 1953. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Officer-in-Charge of School of Naval Aircraft Maintenance 1954. He was appointed as a Commander (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1956). He served in HMCS Niagara as Staff Officer (Engineering) 1956. He served in HMCS Bonaventure as Engineer and Air Engineer Officer 1958. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Mechanical Training Establishment as Officer-in-Charge 1960. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Air Engineer Officer 1963. He served in HMCS Stadacona on Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast as Staff Officer Planned Maintenance 1966. (He was retired.)
