At the time of his recruitment his home in Mystic, Quebec he was a student at McGill University, 1910-1911 and 1913-1914; He was also a surveyor for railways. He attended the Curtiss Flying School (Longbranch ON), obtaining Royal Aero Club Certificate No.1853 dated 30 September 1915. |

In 1914 he enlisted as a Private (23rd Battalion Westmount Regiment). (Transferred to RNAS) He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS (With seniority dated 30/09/1915). He served in RNAS Detling, Kent 30/09/1915. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS. |

He was shot down and killed while in #3 (Naval) Wing at Brebach 25/02/1917. He was buried in the military cemetery at Sarralbe, Moselle France. Flying a Sopwith Strutter, with 3 Wing he was shot down by Jasta 24 during a bombing raid on Burbach and died of wounds shortly after being taken Prisoner. His Gunner, R.S. Portsmouth, also died. |
