In 1953 he graduated with an LLB from Dalhousie University.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 04/04/1950). He served in HMCS Donnacona for UNTD 1949-1950. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1954) In 1954 he served in HMCS Cataraqui. (He was released.)
