Military Service
He served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force 1915. (Transferred to RNAS) He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RNAS. He served in 213 (RAF) Squadron.

Anecdotes
With the CEF, he fought at Wytschaete, St. Eloi, Ypres, and Courcelette. Refusing a flying instructor position after receiving his wings, he requested a return to the Western Front flying Sopwith Camels with 213 RAF Squadron.
