He attended McGill University.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cdet (COTC McGill University). (Transferred to RCAF) He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (URTP McGill University) RCAF (With seniority dated 19/01/1942). (Transferred to RNVR) He was appointed as an A/Leading Airman RNVR (With seniority dated 30/06/1943). In 1943 he served in HMS Condor. (CFR) He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) (A) RNVR (With seniority dated 24/07/1944). He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for Pilot Training Course 1944. He served in H.M.S. Goshawk (Piarco Trinidad) for Flying Training Course. He served in H.M.S. Indefatiguable for 820 RN Squadron 1944. (He was demobilized.)
