He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR 10/1944. He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) 1945-1948. He served in HMCS York for UNTD 1944-1948. He served in the Supply and Secretariat Course 1947. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1948). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1950). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant-Commander (S) (WHA) RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 25/08/1958). In 1958-1963 he served in HMCS York. (He was released.)
