He may have been the second-last Canadian naval officer killed in action during the Second World War.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (With seniority dated 31/02/1940). He served in the Royal Military College of Canada 1940. He was appointed as a Naval Airman RNVR (With seniority dated 23/08/1941). He was appointed as an A/Leading Naval Airman RCNR. He served in #14 Elementary Flying Training School. He served in #31 Service Flying Training School. He was Awarded Wings 1943. (CFR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 24/01/1943). He served in RAF Errol for #9 AFU. He served in Ferry Pool as Pilot. (Transferred to RCNVR 01/01/1944). He served in 1772 RN Squadron 1944. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 24/07/1944). He served in H.M.S. Empress for 1772 RN Squadron for Deck Landing Training 1944. He served in H.M.S. Ruler for 1772 RN Squadron 1945. He served in H.M.S. Indefatiguable for 1772 RN Squadron 1945.
