Biography
He was a lawyer in his civilian career in Woodstock ON.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1955. He served in HMCS Star (Cadet Captain) for UNTD 1955-1958. He served in HMCS Hochelaga (Cadet Captain) for Supply Course 1957. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) (RCN(R)) (With seniority dated 01/05/1958). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1960). In 1961 he served in the Great Lakes Training Centre as Executive Officer. In 1960-1963 he served in HMCS Prevost as Executive Officer. In 1964 he served in Maritime Command HQ Operations Division. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR) (With seniority dated 01/01/1967). In 1967 he attended the Standard Maritime Warfare Course. In 1970 he served in the Naval Control of Shipping Course. In 1971-1972 he served in HMCS Star as Executive Officer. In 1974-1984 he served in HMCS Star as Naval Control of Shipping Officer. He was appointed as a Commander (NR) (With seniority dated 01/01/1975). (He was released 08/1984.)

Anecdotes
In 1978 he received the Admiral's Certificate of Achievement for his role in establishing the London ON tender to HMCS Star. He received the Canada 125 Medal, Queen's Silver Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals.
