Biography
After his naval service he went into business in Sarnia, Montreal and Vancouver.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 14/05/1943). He served in H.M.S. Seaborne 1943. He served in H.M.S. Daedalus 1943. He served in H.M.S. Activity for Sea Training 1943. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for Pilot Course #55 1943, A/Leading Airman RNVR (With seniority dated 30/10/1943). He served in RCAF St. Eugene for #13 Elementary Flying Training School 1943. He served in RCAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School 1944. He was Awarded Wings 16/06/1944. He was appointed as a A/Petty Officer Pilot RNVR (With seniority dated 16/06/1944). (CFR). A/Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 01/08/1944) (Later backdated to 16/06/1944). He served in RNAS Hinstock for Naval Instrument Flying School 1944. He served in RAF Errol for #9 Advanced Flying Unit 1944. He served in RNAS Henstridge for #2 Naval Air Fighter School in 761 RN Squadron 1944. He served in RNAS St. Merryn for 719 RN Squadron for Deck Landing Training 1944. He served in H.M.S. Ravager for Deck Landing Qualification 1945. He served in H.M.S. Trouncer for Deck Landing Qualification 1945. He served in H.M.S. Implacable for 801 RN Squadron 1945. He served in RNAS Jervis bay for Photo Reconaisance Training 1945. He served in RNAS Schofields Australia for 801 RN Squadron 1945. He took part on 14 - 15/06/1945 in Operation Inmate, a series of air strikes against Japanese held Truk Islands in the Caroline Group. In July 1945 he took part in offensive air strikes against targets on the Japanese home islands. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 16/12/1945). (Transferred to RCN(R) as Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/01/1946). He served in RNAS Nutts Corner for 803 RN Squadron 1946. (He was demobilized in 1946.)
