Biography
He was a labourer at the time of his recruitment into the navy. (He lied In his attestation papers stating that he was born 19/12/1898 when in fact he was born in 1900). After his naval service he worked as a lineman at Nipigon Ontario. In 1926 he was working as a lineman with the Fraser Brace Co, of Pembroke Ontario when he was electrocuted on the job.

 

Military Service
In 1916 he served in the RNCVR during the First World War. He served in HMS Royal Sovereign. (He was demobilized).
