He was a messenger at the time of his recruitment into the navy. After his naval service he was a civil servant working in the National Parks Branch, Ottawa ON. |
Military Service |

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. He served in RN Barracks Devonport for training. He served in minesweeping operations in the English Channel. He was appointed as an Abe-Seaman RNCVR. In 1917 he served in HMCS Niobe. (He was knocked down by the exlosion at Halifax of the Mont Blanc on December 6, 1917.) (He was demobilized). |
