He attended McGill University.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 02/05/1942). In 1942 he served in HMCS Royal Roads (Officer Training Establishment). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 27/04/1942). In 1943 he served in Newfoundland. In 1944 he served in HMCS Sarnia. He served in Observer Training Course #72. He served in H.M.S. Goshawk (Piarco Trinidad) for Observer Training Course. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 27/04/1943). (He was demobilized.) (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.)
