He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (S) (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1957). He served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD 1956-1958. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 25/05/1964). He served in HMCS Stadacona for HMC Dockyard on Staff of Commodore Superintendent Atlantic. He served in HMCS Buckingham (In command) 1965. He served in HMCS Lanark (In command) 1965. (He was released.) (Transferred to Naval Reserve). He was promoted to Commander (NR). He was promoted to Captain (N) (NR). He served in HMCS Scotian as Commanding Officer 1981-1985. (He was retired.) (He was qualified for supply duties)
