He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1958. In 1958-1961 he served in HMCS Nonsuch for UNTD. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 04/03/1963). (He was released.)
