Biography
He was educated at Lachute QC, but his home was in Ottawa ON where he had been a machinist and mechanic for at least four years. He was awarded ACA Certificate 358 at Wright Flying School, Dayton, Ohio, 17/11/1915.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS (With seniority dated 15 November 1915) in Ottawa ON. He served in RNAS Chingford, 15/11/1915; He was awarded Royal Aero Club Certificate 2531 on 12/02/1916. He served in RNAS Eastchurch, 01/05/1916. He served in #3 (N) Wing, 22/05/1916. (Invalided from RNAS, 18/10/1916). (He returned to Canada (nervous breakdown); returned to UK at own expense, February 1917 and rejoinedthe RNAS). He served in RAF Cranwell, 02/04/1917. He served in RNAS Mullion 09/05/1917. He served in RNAS Dover 16/08/1917. He served in HMS Oak Royal 20/09/1917. He served in #63 Wing. He served in #220 Squadron 07/03/1917. He served in #2 (Naval) Squadron 18/08/1917. He served in #1 Balloon Base 24 May 1919. (He was demobilized.)
