Biography
He was a student when he enlisted.

Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCNVR (With seniority dated 22/09/1939). He served in the Saskatoon Division RCNVR 1939. He was appointed as an Ordinary Telegraphist RCNVR 1940. He served in HMCS Naden 1940. He served in HMCS Stadacona 1940. He was appointed to H.M.S. Raleigh (Officer Training Establishment) (Mess 27 Collingwood) in 1940. He was appointed as a A/Leading Naval Airman RCNVR 1941. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #23 Pilot Training Course. He served in RAF Luton for #14 Elementary Flying Training School. He served in RAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School 1941. (CFR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in RAF Worthy Down for 757 RN Squadron 1942. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 31/12/1942) (Later backdated to 1941. He served in H.M.S. Afrikander I as Additional for FAA Pool 1942. He served in the Catapault Course 1943. He served in H.M.S. Saker for 1830 Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Blackcap for 1830 RN Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Illustrious for 1830 RN Squadron as Pilot 1943.

Anecdotes
He was killed in action, after strafing an airfield in Pelembang (Java) Indonesia 24/01/1945. He had crashed his burning plane into a hangar of Japanese aircraft. He was recommended for the Victoria Cross but the award was denied because it could not be determined that he was still alive and in control of the aircraft in the final moments of the attack.
