He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #29 Pilot Training Course. He served in #14 Elementary Flying Training School. He served in #31 Service Flying Training School. He served in H.M.S. Daedalus for 781 RN Squadron 1942. He served in RNAS Lee-on-Solent for 781 RN Squadron 1942. He served in RNAS Piarco (Trinidad) for 752 RN Squadron 1943. He served in USNAS Quonset Point for 849 Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Khedive for 849 Squadron 1943. He served in RAF Peranporth for 849 Squadron 1944. He served in H.M.S. Rajah for 849 Squadron 1944. He served in H.M.S. Victorious for 849 Squadron 1944. (He was demobilized 1945.)
