He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (S) (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1958). He served in HMCS Nonsuch for UNTD 1957-1959. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1962). In 1962-1963 he served in HMCS Tecumseh. (He was released 1965.)
