He was living in Ottawa ON at the time of his recruitment. He held management positions with the Bank of Nova Scotia (Toronto, Portland Oregon, Nassau Bahamas), Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate Services Toronto, Black Jack Dealer Gananoque Casino.

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1960. He served in HMCS Carleton for UNTD 1960-1963. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1963). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1962). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR) (With seniority dated 01/07/1069). He served in HMCS York. (He was released 1972.)
