Biography
From 1963 to 1965 he taught high school in Napanee. From 1967 to 1977, he was a teacher and administrator in Guelph. He was ordained as a clergyman in 1980 in the Anglican Church of Canada. He served in the Diocese of Niagara, retiring in 2007, and continuing as an Honorary Canon of Christ's Church Cathedral Hamilton. From 2000 to 2010 he was a faculty member of the Interim Ministry Network. He is very active in the UNTD Association of Canada, the NAC Toronto Branch, and is a Director and Life Member of the Friends of HMCS Haida, a Life Trustee of the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust, and a Life Member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. He currently serves as Chaplain to the Burl-Oak Naval Veterans.
 
Military Service
He served as a Sea Cadet Officer (Midshipman 1958-1959 in RCSCC Admiral Hose). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 1959). He served in HMCS Prevost from 1959 - 1963. He served in HMCS Cornwallis, HMCS Stadacona, and HMCS Cap de la Madeleine as a Cadet Captain for Training in 1960. He served in HMCS Cornwallis, as a Cadet Captain for Training 1961. He served in HMCS Cornwallis and HMCS La Hulloise for Sea Training in 1962. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (RCN(R)) 1962, serving as a training officer in HMCS Prevost until released in the fall of 1963.

Anecdotes
He was President - UNTD Association of Canada (2007 - 2014). He is qualified as a Certified Conference Centre Administrator and as a Professional Transition Specialist. He received the RCSCC National Leadership Award 1958; HMCS Prevost Best 1st year Cadet; OSSTF Award of Merit, 1976; and the Anglican Editors Association Gold Award “Regular Column – Signs & Wonders” 1998. He was awarded the 125 Anniversary of Confederation Medal; QE2 Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers. He received the Bronze Award of the Naval Association of Canada.
