Biography
After his naval service he worked with the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Fort Frances ON.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCNVR (With seniority dated 31/07/1940). He served in the Winnipeg Division of RCNVR 1940. He served in HMCS Stadacona 1940. He was appointed to H.M.S. Raleigh (Officer Training Establishment) (Mess 38 Essex) in 1941. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #23 Pilot Training Course 1941. He was appointed as a A/Leading Naval Airman RCNVR 1941. He served in RAF Elmdon for #14 Elementary Flying Training School 1941. He served in RAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School 1941. (CFR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 31/12/1940). He served in RN College Greenwich 1941. He served in RNAS St. Merryn for 774 RN Squadron 1941. He served in RNAS Crail for 786 RN Squadron 1941. He served in RNAS East Haven for 767 RN Squadron 1941. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 24/05/1942) (Later backdated to 1941). He served in H.M.S. Furious for 822 RN Squadron as Commanding Officer 1942. He served in RNAS Evanton for 774 (Swordfish) Squadron 1942. He served in RNAS Arbroath for 767 (Harrow) Squadron 1942. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in H.M.S. Furious for 822 (Albacore) Squadron as Commanding Officer 1942. He served in USNAS Quonsett Point for 738 (Albacore) Squadron 1943-45. (He was demobilized.)
