He was appointed as an Assistant Paymaster RNCVR. (He was invalided and terminated 29/03/1918). (He was mobilized for Second World War service) He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 18/02/1943). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Discovery 1944. (He was demobilized.)
