Military Service
(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 02/08/1954). He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) for Training 1954. He was appointed as a Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1956). He served in HMCS Niagara for Pilot Training With USN at USNAS Pensacola 1956. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/03/1957). He served in USNAS Kingsville TX for Flying Training. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/03/1958). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VF-870 Squadron as Pilot and Weapons Officer 1958, (Selected for permanent commission),He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/06/1960).
