Biography
A long time resident of Mississauga, he was inducted into that City's Sports Hall of Fame for 1981. He was inducted into the U of T Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He was in "civilian" life a teacher, and coach of many high school teams. He retired in 1988 as Superintendant of Schools for Halton Region.

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR 1944. He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) (RCN(R) 1946. In 1944-1946 he served in HMCS York 1944-1946. (He was released.)

Anecdotes
Bill Clearihue reports that "He graduated from U of T in the Spring of 1948, having played for the Varsity Blues (also dabbling in basketball, baseball, hockey and lacrosse). He played for the Toronto Argonauts in 4 successive seasons (1949 - 1952) including their 1950 Grey Cup win (the Mud Bowl), in which he was the game MVP, and their 1952 win. "
